Mariko Bird / Ceramist
Mariko’s work will be featured at an upcoming group exhibition at TAG, The Artist’s Gallery. The show, Made in the USA: Breath of Freedom, is a juried show of drawings, paintings, sculpture and mixed media works that respond to the theme in some way. Two of Mariko’s pieces were selected for the show, Requiem and Torque #2, featured below. The show runs July 15 - 31, with an opening reception on July 18th.
The California Japanese Ceramic Arts Guild will be at Nisei Week in Little Tokyo (Downtown LA) this weekend, August 9th & 10th 2025, from 11am to 4pm (note: these hours are different from the postcard below due to some late-breaking changes from previous years!). Come see some amazing ceramic work by Mariko and other Guild artists, inspired by this year’s theme: origami. Date just confirmed! The Pasadena Society of Artists Art Fair will be held in the Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden in Pasadena, CA on Sunday November 17th 2024 from 11am to 4pm. It promises to be a beautiful day in the gardens surrounded by art and nature. Here’s a picture from Mariko at last year’s fair:
